PHOTO: Pam Ward’s great, great, great grandfather, Gabriel Reed and his wife, Ellen Garret Reed, both escaped slaves. Gabriel Reed served in the Union during the Civil War. Pam’s other great grandfather was a Buffalo Soldier during WW1. Pam’s working on a “poetic” family history.
